Film Reviews: Midnight (1939)

Midnight with Claudette Colbert and Don AmecheOne of my all-time favorite films is one I’d never seen until this month – a film from 1939 called Midnight, starring the incomparable, hilarious Claudette Colbert and the dashing, handsome and talented Don Ameche as a broke necessity-induced con woman and a love sick cabbie who’s affection leads him on a wild goose chase to find her.

This is now my favorite film for both Don Ameche and Claudette Colbert, hands down, and that’s saying something because I’m a huge fan of both of their work. It’s got some of the funniest comedy routines I’ve ever seen in my life, case in point being Cobert’s character talking to her fake daughter on the phone and the ensuing hilarity.

I’ve got to give this thing several stars, I don’t even have a set amount but were I to set it in stone it would be thirteen out of five, lol.
