Video: Suzy (1936)

So far on VG I haven’t dedicated an entry to one of the most talented women to ever grace the screen, the gorgeous, charismatic and quite tragic Jean Harlow, one of Hollywood’s first blond bombshells who had the ability to make you feel what her character was feeling and empathize with her, which is a trait that even some of the best actresses of today can’t manage to pull off. I’d put her in the same class of actors with Ginger Rogers, Eliza Dushku and Fairuza Balk – and I think anyone who’s a big fan of the those four probably gets what I mean by that.

Suzy is one of the best films of the 1930s, which is a tall order to fill for a film since so many films from the 30s are amazing. It also stars Cary Grant:
