Well, despite a few awful arguments with my horrible mother (alright, alright, happy mother’s day lol), Laota and I had a fairly good day yesterday. We went with the rest of the campaign to Marceline, Missouri – boyhood home of our beloved Walt Disney – for a meet and greet at a car show and some action shots for the campaign website.
Other than travel sickness, which I get a lot, we had a ball. After the car show Laota and I went to an antiques shop and bought a haunted mansion record (vintage, gorgeous!) and a Gene Autry record. Then we took photos around town, especially Main Street, USA., then went to see the toy shop and took more photos. Then we took a trip to see the historic Uptown Theater, where we poked out heads in just in time to miss the Lone Ranger – but the caretaker was so nice, she let us take photos, watch some news reels about Marceline and even gave us a poster, popcorn and a soda. She refused to let us pay (though we are going to send a donation for the Uptown), and was so nice to us – you just don’t run into people like that anymore.
We’d gotten some souvenirs at the Marcel Museum aka the old train station (they wouldn’t let us take photos inside, unfortunately), but we great fun anyway. Here are some photos:
